My Fave Photo Apps-Revisited

**PLEASE NOTE: ALL THE APPS DISCUSSED ARE IOS AND I HAVEN’T CONFIRMED IF THEY ARE ON OTHER PLATFORMS. SORRY IF THEY AREN’T AVAILABLE FOR YOUR DEVICE.**

A few years ago, and prior to my previous website crashing, I wrote a great little blog about my favorite photo apps. Well, time has passed, apps have improved and it’s time for an update.

The first, and my fave all time, photo app is by far Instagram. It’s not only a photo app, but it’s a pretty awesome social media platform too. We have become a very visual society and you don’t get more visual that a photo sharing platform. Developers recently updated the app so you can do rectangular pictures now. I can’t begin to tell you how excited that makes me!! Don’t get me wrong, I love a square image as much as the next lady, but I often fill my frame and can’t crop anything out. The filters are great for those who want something quick. Now I must admit, I haven’t used an Instagram filter in years so take that for what it’s worth.

If you want an app slightly more advanced than the filters on Instagram, look no further than Pic-Tap-Go! There are so many, MANY reasons I love this app. I can’t even wrap my head around where to begin. First, it offers a wider array of fun filters. And even filters to help with basic edits. AND the greatest thing about these filters is you can decided how much or how little you’d like them applied to the picture! YES! Not every filter needs to be used at 100% and it’s great to have the option now. Also, you can easily tap your image and see a quick before and after to decide if you like it or not. Not only are the filters great, but it has one of my favorite crop tools to use. Easy, peasy. Lemon, squeezy. There are other things I can go into. But I won’t. Just go download it. Cool? Cool!

If you’d like to take your photo editing skills up a notch, try Snapseed. Here, you can adjust individual settings such as white balance, sharpening or even contrast. These can be added to specific areas too, not just an overall photo filter. They also have gorgeous filter options as well. Your edits are then organized in stacks so you can revisit those edits as you go. I may not often use this app because it is pretty detailed. When it comes to my iPhone pics, I tend to want to edit it quickly so I can share it as soon as possible. But anytime a picture needs more time, this is my definite go-to app!

So, those are my fave editing apps. There’s other apps I use for pictures yet. A bit ago I posted on Facebook to share your screen saver image. I received texts from a few friends asking me how I did mine. There’s no secret. Just this Photo Quilt app where you select what pictures you want included and it’ll give you different layout options to choose from. It’s crazy easy and is perfect for someone like me who can never pic just one image 🙂

Lastly, speaking of not being able to pic just one image, the last app I’m going to share with you is Flipagram. I love this app for when I take a series of pictures which all go together. For example, action pics of your kid playing soccer or dancing or you making different faces. It’s cute. It’s fun.

I hope this sparks your creativity and you get out there and get to taking some pictures! Don’t forget to share them with us all every Friday using #MLPFridayFave 🙂
