People often worry and stress over when the best time is to get pictures taken. Is it in the fall when all the colors are golden or in the spring when everything is in bloom?
I recently shared a recent experience I had during a Facebook Live video that made me think about this exact topic. If you aren’t on Facebook, or if you missed the video, please watch it here:
Watching this all play out was obviously very emotional for me. It truly made me start thinking of everyone who tells meView full post »
In honor of Father’s Day, I recently put a call out to my email subscribers asking them to share with me their favorite “father” picture. I didn’t have any parameters other than any dad that was important to them and it had to be their FAVORITE picture of them. I can’t tell you that I was shocked by the response I received.
As the pictures came in, there was a clear trend. Every picture submitted told a story. Each person had a deep, meaningful connection to theView full post »
Cameras are readily accessible for anyone. Gone are the days of having to save the 12 shots on the roll of film for an entire event. We no longer need to make sure every click is picture perfect (that phrase was coined for a reason!) because we aren’t getting another chance to get it again. We take pictures of EVERYTHING now. My favorite actor of all time (Tom Hanks in case you are wondering) enjoys taking pictures of random gloves he finds while out and about. Yes. What used to be savedView full post »
One of my favorite things is when clients purchase the Baby’s First Year package. Baby’s change so much in the first year and I enjoy so much being able to watch them change from each session.
You might remember this little princess from her hospital arrival and her newborn session. As you can see, everyone is still swooning over her!View full post »
I am so excited to FINALLY be sharing this session with you guys! I waited patiently so no Christmas surprises were ruined. You know I try and tell the story of all my clients and this story is the absolute sweetest! If your favorite time of year is Christmas, then don’t get portraits done in the spring in a grass field. Schedule a session while you are putting up the tree or baking Christmas cookies. Those will be the ones that mean the most.
Which is exactly what we did here. IView full post »
I touched a little bit on everything I went through to get this session accomplished on social media, but let me break it down quickly: running out of gas, 20 minute long trains, wind storms and a corrupted memory card. But none of that stopped me. And let me just say, I don’t mention this to toot my horn because that’s not my style. I mention it so you know I’m going to do what it takes to get you the family pictures you deserve and (in my opinion) need!
My goal is toView full post »
I had such a fun time using my new ranch outdoor studio for this session! I still believe the best sessions are done in home, but for those of you who aren’t comfortable with that, I now have a new location at my disposal and boy is it gorgeous. Almost as gorgeous as this little dude, but not quite
Ask me about scheduling your next session there!

This session was longer overdue! And I don’t mean just on the calendar. I spend my slow winter months learning new things and adding different approaches to my routine. I was so ready to try out all the new stuff with these guys and I couldn’t have been happier with the results!
If there’s one thing I love the most, other than my own kids, it’s cheesecake. After that, it’s capturing connections in families and real authentic moments. This is what drives me.View full post »
