A letter to my daughter on her first day of kindergarten

The day is finally here. You, my dear, are officially a kindergartener. Yes, this time has gone incredibly fast. Yes, I know you are ready. Yes, you are the biggest rockstar I know. But no, I am not ready to hand you over. Your days spent (mostly) with me will now be shared with someone else. If you get scared, if you get nervous, or if you just drew the best heart you ever had, I will no longer be the one to witness or help you through it. Even though those days of me always being there aren’t gone, they sure are shrinking and that’s probably what makes me the most sad. As I hand you over to your teacher, I have to trust that she will see how incredibly sweet you are. She will see your greatness, your uniqueness. And help mold you into the best you that you can possibly be. But know this baby girl, know that I have no worries about you rocking this school year! Know that you are beyond capable! Know that you a strong and independent lady!

Little Miss, I will miss you but knowing you are going to take kindergarten by storm and show them all what you are made of will always put a smile on my face. Enjoy this year, because kindergarten only comes once a lifetime 🙂
